The first art award I ever received was won with Crayons. While I now spend a vast majority of my time on an Apple using various design software, I still know how to turn off the computer, pick up a pencil, and create the old-fashioned way.
In a day and age when anyone can pick up the latest copy of Photoshop and a “Photoshop for Dummies” book and then christen themselves a graphic designer, I think its important to know where I’ve come from. I’ve colored, sketched, drafted, double-clicked, and command-keyed my way through tons of projects, from the elaborately edgy to the simplistically corporate, and have done so both in school and as a professional working for various clients and employers.

I’ve lived in 4 cities, had 7 apartments, encountered and learned from numerous experiences, worked with quite a few wonderfully talented people, and amassed a hefty body of work that I can be proud of. But being proud of something and feeling accomplished are two separate things, and I’m still chasing the latter.

This is my history, and while it may not seem like an important element of a website portfolio, without a history this is just work, and I am just another random, faceless designer.
